Free Photoshoots for Families Affected by Cancer in Rochester, MN: Giving Back Through Photography

As a photographer in Rochester, MN, I’m lucky enough to capture some of life’s best moments—engagements, weddings, newborns, and so much more. But there’s one part of my job that’s even more meaningful to me, and that’s my passion project: offering free photoshoots for families affected by cancer.

This is my way of giving back to the community and doing something special for families going through one of the toughest times in their lives. It’s my way of bringing people together, creating beautiful memories, and just offering a little light when it’s needed most.

Combining My Photography & Nursing Work to Help Families


As a nurse, I’ve seen firsthand the emotional and physical toll that cancer takes on families. It’s heavy, no question. But through my work as a nurse in Rochester, I’ve also witnessed how strong people can be in the face of it. That’s something that sticks with me. And I wanted to do something to give back—to use my photography skills to help create lasting memories for these families.

So, I decided to offer free family photoshoots for cancer patients and their loved ones in Rochester, MN. It’s one of the most rewarding things I do—capturing moments that families can hold onto for years to come, no matter what they’re going through.

Why I Do This




A photograph isn’t just an image—it’s a memory. And for families battling cancer, those memories become even more important. Whether it’s a smile, a hug, or a quiet moment together, those photos mean so much more than just a picture. They’re proof of love, strength, and connection during a challenging time.

By offering these photoshoots in Minnesota, I’m hoping to give families a way to celebrate the bond they share—without the weight of medical bills or other stressors. It’s just about enjoying the moment and having a keepsake that will last forever.

Every family photoshoot I do is unique because every family is unique. Whether you want something calm and intimate or a little more playful, I’ll make sure the session is as comfortable and personal as possible. I just want to capture real moments of connection—nothing forced, nothing fake.

By offering this service for free, I hope to give families more than just a photoshoot. I want to give them something they can look back on and smile at—beautiful, timeless memories.
